The Tomb of the Mad Mage

This book contains a map with all the main areas described by me and my AI friend. There’s also a list of NPCs that you can use, random encounter tables, and more.

Players uncover clues that lead them to the tomb of a powerful and insane wizard, Alfredo Rumaron. He was one of the most powerful sorcerers.

His exploits and an old journal suggest he traveled to the north and may have used ritual magic to raise the dead in an attempt at immortality.

The tomb is in the basement of an abandoned chapel high in the mountains. Players must fight their way to reach the abandoned chapel.

Once they arrive at the dungeon, they must fight through an army of skeletons until they can finally figure out how to reach the tomb room.

Players must face the truth when they reach the tomb room, and the final battle with the resurrected mage.


The Black Flame is Sticky

A man named Matt Genaris approaches the players to find his daughter. Matt is a merchant who runs a wagon train and has been in the city for about a month.

A ranger friend told him that the legendary outlaw named Red Jack is working with the Fire Cult of Zan and kidnapped his daughter.

Matt is a good man and does not want his daughter harmed. He will pay handsomely for her safe return.

What he doesn’t know is that his daughter, Piper Genaris, joined the cult willingly because she is in love with Red Jack.

Red Jack is rumored to be in an abandoned fortress in the nearby woods. People say he and his goons worship a giant spider named The Black Flame.

As Red Jack and his sister want to grow their cult, they won’t have a problem with the party being in the fortress if they’re not causing trouble.

The Orb City is Found

A man named John Flint has discovered an ancient city in the forest near his home. He will pay the party to retrieve several artifacts.

Flint is a farmer who lives about a day’s ride from the city. He is a good man but has been touched by madness. In his home is a book that tells of an ancient city which was built by a race of Gold Dragons.

It also mentions the ruins of a city being built over the ancient one. Flint will not be able to teleport to the ancient city but will provide a small orb that will allow the players to access a part of the ancient city.

Once there, the players will face a variety of dangers including a green golem, a horde of goblins, and a powerful mage named Berlock.

The ancient city is a maze of rooms and passageways. There is a room with a pool of water that is used to teleport back to the player’s realm, but it is always heavily guarded.

Oh, yeah, the orb is a one-way transportation device. This is the first of a series of adventures in Orb City.

The Rod of all Rods

The party is approached by a man named Zordac who hires them to recover a magical artifact from a red-robed villain named Torg.

Torg is a powerful mage who commands a small army of orcs. He is a member of a secret society that is gaining control over the city.

The artifact is the Rod of All Rods. It’s a rod that can be used to open gateways to other worlds. Torg’s lair is in the sewers.

His army is spread throughout the city, but he keeps his powerful artifacts in the sewers where he has his hideout.

The Olde Castaway Inn is Odd

Players can be directed to the Olde Castaway Inn by the innkeeper of the Sea’s Bounty, Righteous Jack.

The Castaway Inn is found deep in a forest and a favorite hangout of a group of magic users who were studying a magical portal.

A group of orcs attacked the inn and slaughtered everyone. Now, an old man named Eric lives there. When players first meet Eric, he will be a nice old man who is a bit senile.

However, as players investigate, they will discover that Eric is a powerful wizard who is continuing the research of the dead mages in the basement.

It Lurks Under the Farm

The players will be approached by a farmer named Abrel who has discovered ancient ruins underneath his barn. As players explore the ruins, they will discover that Abrel might’ve been lying about being a farmer.

In fact, he might be the leader of a cult that worships Zan the Wizard. Players must uncover Abrel’s true plan and rid the land of the evil that lurks within the ancient ruins. The dungeon is filled with puzzles and strange magic.

Hidden away behind secret doors and magic, Abrel and his cultists plan to summon Zan to this realm. During this adventure, the players will face the dead, and Zan, an evil wizard. The farmhouse is surrounded by an orchard of fruit, with wheat fields nearby.

A nearby stream fills the air with the song of birds. The orchard has many small fruit trees and bushes that bear fruit of all types. The farmhouse is of simple design, with a large, open front porch.

The porch has several benches and chairs. A small barn and stable are behind the farmhouse, and a road leads northwest and south from the farmhouse.


Dungeon Casino Twist

Players will be approached by a wizard named Gaun who has discovered a dungeon beneath the ruins of an old tower in a forest at the base of a mountain. He believes the tower was home to a dragon of old.

Gaun will ask players to help him clear the dungeon so as to open it as a museum of sorts. “Yes, yes, a museum…”

Gaun is lying and cannot be trusted. His actual plans are to open the dungeon to anyone willing to pay. Not just a museum, this dungeon will be a casino filled with all kinds of games and gambling.

Players will have to stop Gaun from opening the casino and defeating the dragon that is within the tower. The green dragon, named Morm, is actually the good guy in this adventure. He’s a Chaotic Good green dragon who’s the guardian of the dungeon, his family’s legacy.

If players work with the dragon at the end of the dungeon, Gaun will populate it with monsters, and they will have to defeat if they want to escape and save Morm.

The green dragon just might give the dungeon casino to the players as he’s tired of living in a dungeon.


The Old School Dungeon

Players in a big city will be asked by Gunther the noble to travel to a dilapidated temple nearby as part of a quest. The players won’t be aware of it, but this is an Old School dungeon.

They will find a strange unidirectional maze within the temple with a treasure at the end. The twist is that some of the treasure is cursed and anyone who picks it up and leaves the dungeon will fall into a mystical sleep that will last for a year and a day.

This temple is filled with puzzles and traps that involve the maze itself. Players will need to traverse the maze and defeat the Undead Lich that guards the treasure. If they do this, they can loot the treasure and leave as heroes for the nearby village.

The Doom of the Gloom

In this adventure module, the players are asked by Fjord Bjorken, guildmaster of the local wizards’ guild to help investigate the disappearance of a group of eight wizards who were working on a dangerous experiment. Players will need to descend into a nightmarish world filled with puzzles and traps.

The twist is that the wizards are not missing and are in fact working in their underground lair to create a plague that will wipe out all of humanity.

The players will need to defeat the wizards and put a stop to their dangerous plans. This adventure is set near the coast. Random encounters outside of the dungeon will include things like pirates, kraken, a bunch of hungry sharks, and other dangers.
